Rama: There can be no elections in such a situation!

“In the present conditions there can be no elections. These elections, more than ever in the short history of Albanian democracy will be closely observed by the free world. No doubt, it is not the result to be observed but hte process from which the result will emerge.” This was the declaration made by the socialist leader Edi Rama in a press conference. According to him it is legally impossible for any administrative unit in all the country to prepare correct electors lists in such a short period and without any date guaranteeing the control by the citizens of the lists.

“The Democratic Party and its leadership know these well as we now too and the Albanian people as well. In respect of the democratic consciousness of Albanians and in basis of the need of having trustable lists and identification documents, we demand standards for a free and honest election process, a process that will honor our country in the sight of European Family and not to shame us,” Rama said. The socialist candidate for mayor of capital again invited the prime minister Berisha to work together for Albania opening the dialogue to arive at the necessary consensus and guarantee free and honest elections in a date as reasonable for all as possible.
