Olldashi and Rama compete for the greening platforms in the capital
Recreations projects in the capital have placed against each other today the two main rivals in the competition for Tirana municipality. Sokol Olldashi has presented, in one of the informal zones of the capital near the aviation field, his project for recreation in the zone. While the socialist Rama has been present in the planting of some trees in another part of the capital, Olldashi, accompanied in this meeting by the deputy of the zone, the minister of Public Affairs and Transportation, Lulezim Basha, has emphasized that Tirana has very few green space. He has promised the inhibitors of the zone that he will have a clear vision of greening this zone. “It is a zone of 5 hectares where the citizens should decide whether to fill with concrete or to give themselves a little space for breath and better living conditions. Tirana has very few green spaces and I am beginning from your zone for another reason too. All know that Tirana is a polluted city but your zone is the most polluted one, it is polluted 9 times over the norms and this because of the concretization of the city,” said Olldashi. According to him this comes because every free space has been concepted as a place to plant a building and where the estate agents of the municipality could earn money. This is a situation which we all together can and must change. He reminded them the promise of Rama to build a recreation while after three years this promise has not been realized. On the other hand Edi Rama has pointed out that when he was chosen for the first time as mayor Tirana didn’t have a single meter of green while in 6 years the situations has completely changed. He has promised that in the coming 3 years 10 thousand trees will be planted in Tirana to improve the air.
