Transition plan for Kosovo
UNMIK is preparing to transfer its jurisdiction in Kosovo to the local government and other international institutions.
The measures are planned to be implemented after the status question has been determined in order to facilitate a “smooth and organized transition,” UNMIK spokesperson Neeraj Singh told French news agency AFP.
Singh said that a cooperative planning between the international and local administrations is key to the success of the transition, and work groups will be formed for this purpose.
The work groups will diligently and responsibly plan the transition in the fields of local administration, economy, property issues, security, the legal system and other sectors of the Kosovo government, Singh said.
