Berisha: Rama has assumed on himself overhumanly powers. This is a fatal historic error
The prime minister Berisha has answered the letter of the socialist leader Edi Rama sent three days before. In his response Berisha expressed his readiness to provide all the material and foinancial support and to make every needed effort and to establish the collaboration with all political parties to provide free and honest elections. The prime minister regarded the referation of Rama in his letter to the interests of Albanian citizens.
“Sharing the same concern with you I want to express you my view that it is in the interest of the citizens, Albania and Albanian whereever thay be and the obligaion of he government and of all political powers for the coming local elections to be held in the date determined by the president, namely on 20-th of January 2007, as sanctioned by the constitution, the first law of the country. He shared the same view with the socialist leader that “if there is real political will, that is if the political parties put the interests of the country over the party or personal interests of party leaders, we are still able to realize on 20 January free, honest elections and with good standards.” The prime minister said that in connection with the lists “exactly to respect this legal period in April of 2006 the paliamentary group of PD, based on the written opinion of OSBE/ODHIR experts presented to KQZ the amendment for the lists, which the Socialist Party refused and blocked.”
He accused the opposition that in July, 6 months befor ethe elections it did not accept the anouncement of the lists but demanded the postponing of the elections 6 months before they would be held while their coming is in their aims and interests.
Berisha mentioned also the agreement og August where he emphasised that “Despite this the two parties signed at the end of August the agreement with 12 points from which 11 were requests demanded by the opposition and had to do with the announcement of the lists. But again you blocked the lists until the president decreed the elections.
On the certificates Berisha said that “Fortunately 90% of the certificates issued in Tirana of 2/3 of those issued in all the country are signed by state officials in the units of local governing directed by socialists.”
