Brace: The pension raise is a false boasting: twice as much was promised
The socialist deputy Erion Brace has accused the government of Berisha for not having fulfilled any of its promises and that the pensions raise and the execution of reforms have not been made in the due time and expand. He said that the pensions raise was a false boasting because after 40% of the mandate the government has managed to raise them only by 20%. “We remind the government that in July 2006 it has made the lowest pension raise since 1991 and due to the raise of the living cost the pensioners the pensions have practically have dropped.”
Among other things he mentioned the promises given and not realized by the government. “The government has undertaken to compensate the raise in energy prices in July but until November nothing has been done.
The government took it upon itself to execute the law of the recalculation of the pension form which 70 thousand persons would profit according to the government. The government began to fulfill this obligation only by 1 December 2006.
In the meanwhile, in 2007, the government will have to spend 5 milliards lek more than in 2006. Firstly this money is not foreseen in the budget for 2007. Secondly there remains no money left to raise the pensions till the end of 2007.”
