Majko: We don not have pretexts but demand standards!

The opposition is focused on standards and not on the election date. This is the declaration made by the general secretary of Socialist Party Pandeli Majko, immediately after the table held in the pink headquarter with representers of opposition parties. He said that majority’s proposals are in vain and serve only to lose time. “A debate as to the conclusions on the last proposals of the majority is normal but really it is lost time since it is an incitement to vote openly with envelope where the vote and the certificate will be attached that means when the vote is counted it will be made public,” said Majko.
Pandeli Majko demanded from the majority to reflect and sit in a table with the opposition to put to an end as soon as possible the chaos that has overtaken the Albanian political class. “What would solve the situation is a direct negotiation between the majority and the opposition. If the periods offered by ODIHR are applied February 20 is within the logic of the time of presented lists. We are not fixed in the logic of dates, we demand two things that are the minimal periods about the lists and the issu of certificates that is the basis for nonfalsification of the election result,” he said.
In responding to the declaration of Meta that the opposition is clutching to pretexts Majko said that “there are no pretexts, we are fixed in the main principals that are the minimal periods for the lists and the certificates. The issue of date is a negotiable moment, February 18 or 20, if a negotiation is finished today we can enter the elections on February 18 but if we lose the next final 24 hours then we lose the February 20 too, so we are not fixed on the February 20. We stand for before this date if we have a negitioation moment so we still have time to take the electors to voting boxes.”
