Italy favorises the emigrants with the new emigration law
The Albanian emigrants will soon profit from the approval of a new emigration law.
The italian media said that this law has been considered by the italian experts of social matters as much more liberal than the previous law. In a meeting on Thursday between local officials and emigrants societies including those of Albanians, the minister of social matters Paolo Ferrero confirmed that the government of Rome will liberate before the summer of 2007 the limitations put bu the previous government of Silvio Berlusconi. “The change of the law will pass in January in the parliament and will be in force in April,” said Ferrero adding that all emigrants will profit from this. The previous law approved in 2002 permitted the foreigners to work for 2 years periods and in case of not enlongement of a job they had to return to their country. But not the new law foresees the enlongement of this period to 4 years while those who don’t have a job will be aided by the job offices. The change and liberalization of emigration laws was an electoral promise of the left wing of Romano Prodi during the electoral campaign in April. Also the new law will contain the bearing of the emigration management from the police aithorities to the italian local powers. This will help Albanian and other emigrants to take easier and within a much shorter period the stay permissions.
