The opposition does not register for elections; KQZ concerned
The non registration of the left parties in the Central Commission for Elections for the local elections has concerned the latter since today in midnight the determined period ends. The right parties have made their registration and feel ready to enter the competition of the January 20. Today Republican Party and Party Of Unity for Human Rights have finished their registration.
The KQZ member Klement Zguri has drawn the attention of the left parties that the registration in KQZ is a legal obligation emerging after the legal decree of the president Moisiu who has determined the date of 20 January 2007 for the local elections. “The political parties shoul until now bring their representers in the KQZV. If they do not bring the commissioners they will hinder the elections and harden the process of registration of candidates,” he emphasised.
OF another opinion was the representor of the oppostion in KQZ Fatmir Kumbaro according to whom if a political party has not made the needed registration then it doesn’t hold legal responsibility. He said that the election process is being blocked and the law violated. “The blocking is two folded, in the lists that haven’t been prepared and the candidates who have not present themselves. The parties have obligations only in case they are registered as election subjects, on the copntrary they can not be held legally responsible,” said Kumbaro.
In the KQZ figure registrates for the local elections the Democratic Party, the New Democratic Party, Republican Party. The Party of Unity for Human Rights, the Environmental Party etc. According to the official data from KQZ until 14?00 none of the opposition parties has been registered as election subject while the period ends today in midnight.
