Rama: The postponning of the elections for 7-8 weeks, a condition for talks!

The leader of the Socialist Party Edi Rama has put as a condition for talks to the majority the postponning of the election date for 7-8 weeks. In a meeting with local elected of PS Rama said that “the opposition is ready to enter tomorrow the parliament and offer consensus if the period of 7-8 weeks is accepted for the preparation of the lists and of the special certificates for the identification of the electors.”

According to him “the election code is the only legal basis for the election process, approved with consensus by the left and the right and that can be changed only by consensus.” Rama said that “the acception of opposition’s proposals means to give the legal basis t the election process.”

The socialist leader emphasised that the opposition does not have 84 votes to change the electin code so the majority must accept talks with the opposition. Rama denied the division of the opposiion talked about on different media and between representers of the majority. “All this has not to do with the truth because PS and the opposition remain united in their attitude that the started election process is illegal and that a legal election process requires the consensus between all political parties. PS and the united opposition remain in their attitude that for the composition of the lists, referring to the raport of ODIHR, a time of minimally 7-8 weeks is required. If the consensus is reached before the end of the year it is possible to catch the period before February 20 since for us the standards are the most important,” Rama said.

As to the certificates Rama said that they are the first condition of the opposition to sitt in the talkings table. “The existing certifiacet we consider not only as doubtful but because of some fact that in chain have created a great untrustfulness to this document. For us it is very simple to reach a consensus and there arn’t needed 10 points, 2 are enough, 7-8 weeks for electors lists and special certificates with a special control regime that we trust to KQZ as an institution that, although dominated by representer of the actual power but also has a representer of the opposition,” Rama said.
