The table of opposition parties for common attitude on the election reform fails

The table of left parties that met in the pink headquarter with the aim of attaining a common attitude on the election situation has failed. The dissagreements began since the beginning of the meeting when the election date was discussed. The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration Ilir Meta has demanded the holding of the elections within February 20 as the last constitutional period. This was strongly opposed by the socialist representers who insist in the postponning of the elections till March. Debates on a common platform had between the socialist leader Edi Rama and that of PDS Paskal Milo. Meta emphasised that “What is important is t have elections within standards and not to find pretexts. We should insist on the certificates and the lists. Other things are not important.”

On his part the head of the parliamentary group of PS Pandeli Majko said that the proposals of the majority are only vain time since the usurpation of the local power is wanted. “What is needed is an immediate agrement between the majority and the opposition. But the majority does not do such a thing. They fear such an agreement. The date proposed by LSI is within the consitutional periods but for us the reaching of standards is more important than the election date,” said Majko.
