Did you get a proper treatment at the hospital when you went Monday night?

They examine and head scanned me. I was for three hour in the emergency room taking intravenous. Later on doctors prescribed some meds that I’m still taking them. I left the hospital early in the morning due to scandalous conditions at the hospital. The hospital did not provided a room for me, but left me on the hallway of the new patient’s reception room, where I was exposed to people dying. This worsens my psychological condition and asked them to let me go home.

What did they diagnose you with?

Doctors said that I have hematomas on the back of my head. The scanner did not show any internal damages of the brain, but they advised me to be under doctors’ oversight for the next two weeks. At this moment I have pain when I talk or move every muscle on my face that is connected with the muscles in my head.

Can you please tell us if you received any threats from Rezart Taci before he attacked you?

No. My public denounces against his tax evasions were encountered with a wall of silence. It was a bizarre silence because neither Rezart Taci nor the government was reacting to the accusations. After a few months of warnings from me, the scandal exploded. The Tax (financial) Police seized his business, a oil refinery in the south of Albania(City of Ballsh). After this event Rezart Taci used the local Police against the Tax Police in order to break the siege of his refinery. I reported this incident on my show on Monday November 2nd at 19:30PM. After the show that night I was attacked at 23:00PM.

Did he try talking to you about your investigation at the bar or before the attack?

No. He came straight to our table where I was sitting with my two colleges. He started swearing and offending me and also hitting me. I tried to step back and protect myself and I noticed that I was surrounded by his bodyguards. I passed out after a few minutes of hitting and when I became conscious again they had left.

Did Taci ever publicly refute your reports on tax evasion charges?

He has never challenged my investigations before. I have strongly asked for his reaction and also the government’s reaction, but they have kept silent. They have chosen to ignore the problem. Now that the problem has become a bigger one and the Tax Police are asking for the unpaid taxes, Rezart Taci has lost his calm.

What do you think about the investigation—do you think police is doing the right job?

There are two sides of the police. One side is the regular police that came to the crime scene, get what they’re suppose to and do their professional job, and the other side that are their bosses connected to that businessman. On my presence one of the police chief was on the phone with Rezart Taci asking him to come down to police station. There have three days that he’s wanted by police and did not bring himself up, but he’s giving interviews on media while the police supposedly have an arrest order for him. Police is afraid to arrest him. He is will known as a family member of Prime Minister Berisha and a client of Berisha’s daughter that has a law firm.
