Topi: The president has made a grave error; The elections on January 20

The head of the parliametary group of PD Bamir Topi has criticised the president of republic Alfred Moisiu about his declaration for the postponing of the election date in cas of compromis between the two parties. In a press conference Topi said that “The president of the republic has by now consumed his role in decreeing the election date. The presidental institution has a clear consitutional frame and ambigious positions can’t be part of its attitude.” According to the number two of the democracts the presidntal institution has made a grave error. “It is his duty to respect the consiution and the laws. The position of PD is clear. We respect the consitution not voted by us in 1998 but however thinking that it serves to th consolidation of democracy we will respect it. Firstly this consitution must be protected by its first guarantor, the president of the republic,” said Topi. He continued with accuses against the socialist leader Edi Rama who wants just to stay a year more in his post.
